Philippines Goes to Far East Film Festival 2022

THE PHILIPPINES GOES TO ITALY FOR THE 24TH FAR EAST FILM FESTIVAL!

The 24th Far East Film Festival has officially announced its complete festival lineup through a press conference held today, April 12, and was broadcast live on the festival’s official pages.

In competition are three Filipino films: Martika Ramirez Escobar’s “Leonor Will Never Die,” Lawrence Fajardo’s “Reroute,” and Erik Matti’s “Rabid.” Matti’s “On The Job: The Missing 8” will be screened as one of the festival’s featured films.

The Philippines will also be in the spotlight through the “Manila in the Movies Retrospective” which will feature five Filipino films that chronicle the stories of the country’s capital, Manila. In the retrospective lineup are Ishmael Bernal’s “Manila By Night,” Lino Brocka’s “Maynila sa mga Kuko ng Liwanag,” Sean Ellis’ “Metro Manila,” Mikhail Red’s “Neomanila,” and Brillante Mendoza’s “Slingshot.”

All the participating Filipino films will have onsite screenings within the festival duration which will run from April 22 to 30 2022 in Udine, Italy.
