Two reigning Miss Universe Philippines queens made the already sterling performance of the Philippine delegation even more sparkling with their presence at the PH-SG Pavilion in the Marché du Film 2022 in Cannes, France last May 28, 2022.

Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi and Miss Universe Philippines Tourism 2022 Michelle Dee, joined by creative director Jonas Gaffud and director of communications Voltaire Tayag, completed the Miss Universe Philippines (MU PH) Team in France.

They took time off their European trip to meet with the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) Team who were wrapping up the Philippine delegation’s participation during the closing of the Marche du Film at the 75th Cannes Film Festival.

FDCP Chair Liza Diño welcomed the MU PH Team and showed them around the pavilion. She shares, “We are so pleased to be graced with the presence of our lovely queens. Filipino films bring our stories to the world, in the same way, our queens use the pageant platform to bring advocacies close to our hearts to a wider audience. We thank them for showing their support to our delegation and we wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”

Prior to being crowned last April 2022, both Cortesi and Dee have long been part of the international pageant scene. Cortesi was Miss Earth Philippines 2018, while Dee was Miss World Philippines 2019, making it to Top 8 and Top 12, respectively. Cortesi is set to compete for the Miss Universe Crown later this year.

Before serving in the government sector, FDCP Chairperson and CEO Diño was herself crowned Mutya Ng Pilipinas -Tourism in 2001 and officially represented the country in the Miss Tourism International 2001 Pageant.
