FDCP offers to help save ABS-CBN’s ‘Sagip Pelikula’
Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chair Liza Diño said she has communicated with the Film Restoration and Archives group of ABS-CBN “to ask how the council can be of help” to the team running the “Sagip Pelikula” campaign that will be closing down on Aug. 31 as a result of the broadcast network’s failed bid to renew its franchise.

Usually overlooked in the film industry, archiving is a crucial endeavor that entails a lot of technical know-how to be able to clean, scan, save, preserve films.

Last weekend, 1,024 film reels from UPFI Film Center were finally turned over to the Philippine Film Archive of the Film Development Council of the Philippines for archiving, scanning, digitization, and possible restoration.
