MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 24, 2020 — Philippine Cinema is sure to be represented at this year’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). With the festival’s 25th edition having kicked off this week, movie buffs from Korea now have the chance to watch several new films across different categories and genres including BIFF’s “A Window on Asian Cinema” and “Wide Angle” sections, both of which will be screening a select number of Filipino films. 

In this edition of PPP4 Spotlight, we will be spotlighting the opening film of the upcoming Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino: a documentary by acclaimed filmmaker and National Artist for Film Kidlat Tahimik entitled “Ang Lakaran ni Kabunyan: Kabunyan’s Journey to Liwanag.” The film will make its Philippine online premiere at the festival on October 31 and will screen under the PPP4 Premium Selection section.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 23, 2020 — The highest-grossing Filipino film of all time, “Hello, Love, Goodbye” by Cathy Garcia-Molina, has three National Winners under its belt from the Asian Creative Academy Awards (AAA) in Singapore. 

In anticipation of the upcoming 4th Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), will be spotlighting various films among the 147 titles scheduled to screen for this year’s event. These films will screen under 14 different sections, among which is the PPP Premium Selection featuring 10 titles. 

The love team kilig is a perennial favorite among most Filipino moviegoers, that is why this year’s online Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino (PPP) did not pass up the chance to include a Romance Section.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES, OCTOBER 14, 2020 (UPDATED) — International training and networking will be offered to selected up-and-coming producers from around the world in the online Rotterdam Lab 2021 of the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR).

The Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) celebrates this year’s World Intellectual Property Day by conducting a lecture series on Film Distribution, Intellectual Property Rights and Pitching Essentials from April 26 to April 27, 2019 at Novotel Manila Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City. This event is made possible in partnership with the Motion Picture Association (MPA) supported by the Department of Trade and Industry-Expert Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB) and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL).

It was a night of celebration with music, visuals, and warm company among the local film industry as the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) held its Film Ambassadors’ Night last February 10 at Samsung Hall, Taguig City.

The Camera Obscura Artistic Excellence Award is the highest honor given by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) during the annual Film Ambassadors’ Night to films, filmmakers, and artists whose outstanding achievements and breakthroughs have positively inspired the Philippine film industry to aspire to greater heights.
